Fillers

A natural consequence of age is the fact that our facial skin loses its elasticity, hydration, and volume, all of which we need to maintain a youthful and healthy appearance. At our Delight clinic, we use dermal fillers to add volume and restore facial contours where the fat volume and skin elasticity has diminished during the aging process.

Dermal fillers are non-surgical and temporary injectables which can deliver a revitalized, refreshed, and younger facial presence. Dermal fillers may also enhance the contour of the lips, offering the much sought after sensual plump appearance of the lips.

Fillers may be injected anywhere on the face, and (almost) anywhere on the body for volume restoration.

What Dermal Fillers Provide?

Dermal fillers are designed to add fullness to your face providing a more youthful appearance encouraging a graceful aging process. Dermal filler facial correction includes:

  • Plump lips
  • Softer facial creases and wrinkles
  • Enhanced contours
  • Correction of contour deformities
  • Decrease of the shadow on the lower lids
  • Improvement in the appearance of recessed scars

Dermal fillers may be helpful to patients with early signs of aging or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation procedures like skin lasers and peels.

Revanesse Dermal Fillers

The Revanesse family of dermal fillers is a collection of injectable fillers which we use to bring a youthful appearance to your whole face. This dermal filler line is designed to:

  • Smooth your lines and wrinkles
  • Restore fullness and volume
  • Revive facial contours and shape
  • Nourish and hydrate your skin

The Revanesse family of dermal fillers has combined the latest developments in cross-linking technology, delivering high quality, safe, and enduring dermal fillers. The Revanesse dermal filler line employs the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid offered in addition to the revitalizing properties of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

Revanesse Dermal Fillers

Stylage dermal fillers are designed for treatment into each dermal layer to sustain various cosmetic applications. The injectables are defined by two important parameters, elasticity, and viscosity.

The elasticity of the injectable gel is determined by the severity of the skin problem; lower elasticity for finer and superficial lines and wrinkles; higher elasticity for deeper wrinkles in the thicker skin.

The viscosity or thickness of each injectable gel is modified to match the density of the tissue to be corrected which results in a long-lasting cosmetic enhancement.

This versatile range allows us to optimize the cosmetic effect for you in a more tailored approach.

Revanesse Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers procedure includes the following steps:

Facial Assessment and Mapping Your Medical Aesthetician will assess your skin tone and facial appearance, and examine the areas of your face to be enhanced if you choose to utilize dermal fillers.

We may mark strategic points on your face as the appropriate injection sites for the dermal filler. We may also take photographs of the treatment areas.

Cleansing and Anesthetizing

We will sanitize the treatment sites with an antibacterial solution.

The use of ice packs, topical aesthetic creams, or over the counter pain medication before injections will reduce discomfort during injections. While not painless, the injections are not intolerable.

The Injections take only a few moments per injection site. The process includes:

  • Injecting
  • Massaging
  • Evaluating results
  • Adding filler as needed.

Treatment areas and the number of injections will determine the duration of the dermal filler’s procedure. The treatment time ranges from fifteen minutes to an hour.

Clean Up and Recovery

When we are happy with the results, we will remove all markings. An ice pack may be necessary to reduce swelling and discomfort. Treatment areas may feel tender for a couple of days, but medication for pain is seldom necessary.

Recovery for Dermal Fillers

Dermal Filler recovery varies from patient to patient and from dermal filler to dermal filler. You can resume many activities immediately, but we recommend you avoid intense physical activity for the first 24-48 hours to minimize bruising and swelling. Be sure to discuss your specific recovery plan with us before your dermal filler injections.

Your appearance after treatment with any dermal filler may include:

  • An over-filled look to treatment area
  • Mild to severe swelling or bruising
  • Numbness or redness
  • Palpable lumps at the injection sites

Fillers – Frequently Asked Question

Why chose fillers?

“Fillers are injectable volumizers,” says Dr. Ashit Gupta, a plastic surgeon, who likens fillers to using speckling paste to repair cracks and divots in a wall. As we get older, the fat compartments in our face shrink and our skin falls. Fillers can replace the volume loss and restore fullness to areas that appear deflated. “Today, 95 percent of the fillers on the market use natural products with hyaluronic acid, which include natural sugars found in the body,” says Dr. Gupta. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to hold 1,000 times its weight in water.

Where are fillers injected?

“Concentrating solely on the nasal labial folds—smile or laugh lines—is being replaced with a more global approach [around the entire face],” says Dr. Gupta. To fill the pockets where fat used to be, fillers are most commonly injected into the chin, cheeks, lips, jawline, eye circle, temple and forehead.

How long do fillers last?

Depending on what product is used and where it’s injected, the effect can last from three months to several years. “Due to mechanical movements around the jaw, mouth and lips, the injection can dissolve faster in those spots,” says Dr. Gupta. “Around the eyes, where larger movements are less prevalent, it can last for years.”

Is this process reversible?

There are two types of filler: permanent and temporary dermal fillers. Permanent Dermal Fillers – are made from substances that are not absorbed by the body and last longer than non-permanent fillers. There are common types of permanent fillers but many are not recommended or available in India. Temporary Dermal Fillers – typically contain hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that is naturally found in connective tissue of the human body. Hyaluronic acid is constantly overturned in the body, and is broken down by enzymes within the body. This is why this these dermal fillers are temporary and also allows for easy reversibility if patients are unsatisfied with the result. Hyaluronidase, a natural enzyme, can be injected into areas to help shape the results of hyaluronidase dermal fillers, to reduce the volume of the fillers and smooth out the treatment sites.
