What are Facial Fillers?
Facial Fillers as as popular as Botox for the non surgical Face rejuvenation. They are sometimes applied alone or along with the Botox. They work by safely restoring the lost Volume under the skin thereby filling the wrinkles from under the skin caused due to emptiness. Most common sites are lips and around the mouth.

What are the commonly used Facial Fillers?
Commonly used facial fillers include Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occuring substance already present in the skin. Other Facial fillers include synthetic miscospheres, platelet rich plasma and collagen. Hyaluronic acid lasts from six-twelve months and is used to improve lip shape and size, creases around the mouth and frown lines between the eye brows, facial scars and depressions and dark circle below the eyes.

How is the procedure done?
Fillers are injected directly in the area of concern through tiny needles. Sometimes an anaesthetic can be administered to prevent discomfort. The effects are visible immediately but local swelling lasts for about 24 hours. If there is some bruising, it fades away quickly. The improvement in Facial appearance lasts six to twelve months with hyaluronic acid, lesser with collagen and much longer with synthetic microspheres.

Recovering after Facial Fillers
Facial Fillers do not require admission and is always done in an OPD setting. There is no need to take a leave from the job and you can resume your responsibilities immediately after the injection. Try applying ice over the area if bruising is noticed, it helps to alleviate pain.
